The era of unusual, high-style games like Ghost trick, Zero Escapeand Elite beat agent It’s sadly long gone – and oddly enough, it coincided with the demise of the Nintendo DS, a console that encouraged quirky games more than anything.
But the spirit of DS lives on – in games like NEO: The world ends for youand an upcoming game by Necrosoft and Brandon Sheffield called Demon Schoolhave inspiration from Persona and Shin megami tensei series, as well as Italian horror cinema (why not).
Demonschool is a fun and engaging tactical RPG themed around a demon-possessed school, where your enemies will range from Yakuza members performing summoning rituals to high school students. of you who have been haunted. You will play as Faye, the last surviving member of a legendary family of demon hunters, on a mission to destroy the school of demonic scourge along with your (yet demonized) classmates.
The tactics part sounds really interesting and we’ll move on to the official description here so we don’t get it wrong:
Demon School is a streamlined strategy game where movement equals action, decisions can be repeated, and speed mechanics remove the traditional rut of the genre. Plan each student’s moves at your leisure, then hit the action button and watch it all unfold in devastating, character-based combos. Destin, a fiery warrior, can knock enemies forward with Namako’s dash, and damage dealers like Faye benefit from the helpful eyes of the temple keepers Knute. Strategize for monolithic bosses and unusual battlefields, against genre conventions. Unleash special moves that can change the tides to stop the demons — if they reach the backline, the human world will be lost.
Sounds like fun right?!
