PH’s James Aranas, Johann Chua book tickets to the quarterfinals of the World Cup of Pool

James Aranas grabbed a golden opportunity as he and Johann Chua completed the Philippines’ 7-2 wins over Jonas Souto and Jose Alberto Delgado of hosts Spain on Friday to reach the quarterfinals of the Pool World Cup.
Aranas broke his ninth racket and the 9 ball rolled into the right corner, sealing another victory over the Spanish team in the annual doubles competition held at the Pazo de Feiras e Congresos in Lugo.
The Filipino duo will face Niels Feijen and Marc Bijsterbosch of the Netherlands or Ko Pin-Yi and Ko Ping-Chung of China-Taipei in the final eight games scheduled for Saturday.

Netherlands and China-Taipei are playing at the time of posting.
Aranas and Chua started the tournament with dethroned the defending champion Francisco Sanchez Ruiz and David Alcaide started the two Spanish teams in the league.
Against the duo Souto and Delgado known as Spain B, Aranas and Chua took the first three slots and never looked back to help the Philippines to three wins before claiming the World Cup Bi crown. -a for the fourth time.
Spain won two of the next four brackets, but hopes of a comeback against the home team’s supporters dwindled as Chua and Aranas were almost exactly in the pocket.
