Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will today reveal the full details of a plan to try and eliminate some of the triggers for inflation for Canadians who feel it most.
Both freelance and NDP sources told The Canadian Press the plan includes doubling GST rebate checks over six months as well as temporary dental care benefits for some families with young children and an expansion of payments. Housing subsidy.
All three are initiatives the NDP has requested since the spring when inflation began to weigh on low- and modest-income Canadians.
The dental and housing benefit also meets the requirements of the NDP introduced as part of the NDP free and provision agreement reached last March.
The announcement happened last week during a cabinet retreat in Vancouver but was delayed following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
Instead, Trudeau is set to release full details today amid a Liberal Party caucus in St. Andrews, NB
