‘Queue’ to see Queen Elizabeth’s coffin temporarily closed

LONDON – The line to see Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin lay in state at the three-mile-long Westminster Hall on Thursday. By Friday morning, it had grown to five miles. Officials have posted live updates on the length of the line and have warned that they may have to close entry. The estimated wait time for those who finished ahead of time was 14 hours.

Hundreds of thousands of people, some traveling to London from around the country, gathered to pay their respects to the queen, who will be laid to rest at a state funeral on Monday.

By Friday, people had flooded into Southwark Park, across the river and a few miles east of the coffin’s location at Westminster Hall.
