“For me, the whole character [Jocelyn] and program [The Idol] and her arc is really a cross-cutting collaboration. We know we’re doing something provocative and we don’t shy away from it. It’s something I know I started doing in the first place. I was never interested in doing something pure. It’s okay if this show isn’t for everyone and that’s okay – I think all the best art is [polarizing]. Honestly, I’ve never felt more respected and safer on set. And I think the trust we’ve all built with each other, Sam and I, Abel and I, that can only make for a really safe set of feelings. So when it comes to nudity and the reckless nature of the role, it was really intentional for me. That’s really important to me and something I’m really excited about doing. I’m not afraid of it. I think we live in a highly sexualized world. I think it’s an interesting thing to explore.”
