Rajasthan CLP to meet today, likely to choose new CM | India News

New Delhi: In a late-night development, Parliament called a meeting of its legislative party in Rajasthan on Sunday in what appeared to be an exercise to choose a prime minister’s successor. Ashok GehlotAICC president assumes after internal elections to be decided next month.
The point of interest in the battle of succession is if Gehlot’s god of wealth Pilot Sachin, who had the support of several members of Gandhi’s family, would be appointed as his successor or if the CM would have a say in deciding the matter. It is believed that Rajasthan CM, considered by many to be the Gandhis’ candidate and favorite to be head of Parliament, wants a loyalist to be put in his place, if he has to. resigned his post in Jaipur.
Gehlot loyalists on Saturday demanded that he be allowed to continue as CM if he becomes parliament speaker. The pilot camp said Sachin was the lead in the race and the problem could become apparent even before the legislative party meeting.
Sources say the party of the legislature is likely to pass a resolution allowing the speaker of the National Assembly to nominate a new prime minister. The urgency of the meeting stemmed from the fact that the Rajasthan unit was convulsed by serious jokes for the next CM, with different factions criticizing opponents and promoting their candidates.
The polarization between the Pilot’s supporters and the Gehlot camp has also deepened over the past few days. The party wanted to boil blood in the state unit by conveying that the leadership had a grasp on the matter. AICC Secretary General KC Venugopal tweeted, “The Speaker of the National Assembly appointed Mallikarjun Kharge as an observer along with Ajay Maken, secretary general of AICC, in charge of Rajasthan, to attend the meeting of the Parliament of Rajasthan Legislative Party scheduled to attend. Held on September 25th at 7pm. ”
The meeting took place amid impending internal elections and Parliament’s decision that the “one man, one post” principle should be followed in the event of a possibility of Gehlot becoming party chairman.
The decision to convene the meeting showed that the leadership led by the Gandhis had no doubt that Gehlot, who was supposed to be their preferred choice, became party chief. The core issue is whether Gehlot will have to give up the CM position and whether Pilot will replace him. The pilot is also the choice of the leadership. But this party had to negotiate the priorities of the CM, and the legislative party that Gehlot fully supported. “This is the only bottleneck in the whole problem,” said a congressional administrator.
