Renown Health appoints Dr. Brian Erling as President/CEO
Renown Health has appointed Dr Brian Erling as its president and chief executive officer, effective November 14.
Erling has spent more than 20 years in healthcare leadership roles, most recently as CEO of Centura Health’s Penrose-St. Francis Health Service in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Previously, he was medical director and clinical director. Prior to his position at Centura, Erling was president of Alliance Group, part of Envision Healthcare based in Nashville, Tennessee.
Dr. Thomas Graf, interim CEO at Reno, Nevada-based Renown, and Sy Johnson, interim president, will help Erling transition into his new position. Graf will continue as chief clinical and quality officer at Renown and Johnson will continue as chief operations officer and chief of staff.
This early year, Reputation Board Fires Dr. Tony Slonim from the role of chairman and chief executive officer, a position he has held since 2014, following an investigation into reported unspecified concerns regarding personnel issues. Slonim, formerly with Barnabas Health in New Jersey, joined Renown right after the change in management at the organization, replacing interim CEO Don Sibery.
Renown, Nevada’s largest nonprofit healthcare network, has 6,500 employees serving patients in Nevada and California. The organization includes two acute care hospitals, one children’s hospital, one rehabilitation hospital, urgent care, and coverage through Hometown Health.
