People have had months to take advantage of this year’s holiday deals, but that doesn’t mean they got what you really wanted. Whether it’s a hideous shirt, three-size shoes that are too small, or something you already own, you’re hoping to get it back. And who can blame you?
Whatever the problem, if you’re looking to bring it back to the store, the clock is ticking. How long will the return window open—and will they buy the gift back in early October?
The answer depends a lot on where it was purchased, but overall, there’s a good chance you can still get it back. Of course, return policies vary by store, and some gifts cannot be returned at all. That said, here’s the deadline for returning your unwanted gifts in 2022.

return term of January 31 for purchases made between October 11 and December 25, 2022.
Apple
return term of January 8 for purchases made between November 4 and December 25, 2022.

Most items can be returned within 90 days of purchase

J. Crew
return term of January 9 for purchases made between October 12 and December 9.
Kohl’s
return the goods within 180 days for most parts. Luxury watches and electronics must be returned within 30 days of purchase and beauty purchases have a 60-day period.
LL beans
items can be returned within 365 days of purchase.
Macy’s
return term of January 31 for any purchases made beginning October 3
by Marshall
return term of January 25 for purchases made between October 9 and December 24, 2022.
Neiman Marcus
return term of 30 days from the date of receipt.
PetCo
The return is accepted within 30 days of purchase.
