Desmond Ricks retains its top spot and remains the only 2024 five-star defense back in the latest rankings released. He is an exceptional talent with a physicality and athletic skills that are set to become a dominant player at the college level and beyond. Ricks was built as a safety but played as a cover and it’s a combination you rarely find in a defensive back, especially one who’s only played two seasons in high school. Given his size, speed, power, and hip mobility, Ricks fits perfectly into an angle you’ll find at this stage of his career. Alabama seems to be an original lover with LSU, Miami and others in the mix for phenom 2024.

TWO GROUPS TO WATCH: Alabama and Georgia
The Tide are frontrunners for many top 10 prospects in defence, with their most notable goal being a five-star corner. Desmond Ricks. Jaylen Heyward had a phenomenal season at camp and round 7v7 and made a huge leap in the latest standings as a result. The Rockledge, Fla. Although Heyward is listed as safe, he can cover like a locking corner and he has the speed to match his spectacular play on the field. His development from the football season to now is a great one to watch and as a 4.8-star player, he might even be a bit underrated. If Scott continues to grow the way he has been over the past few months, he will leapfrog the rankings and add to his already impressive list of offers.
