Rohit Sharma tests positive for COVID-19 ahead of India’s rescheduled fifth Test in England | Cricket News
MUMBAI: Captain of the Indian team Rohit Sharma tested positive for COVID-19 following a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) carried out on Saturday in the UK.
Rohit, who is playing in India’s four-day warm-up against Leicestershire before scheduling Fifth test against England, went into quarantine.
“#TeamIndia captain Rohit Sharma has tested positive for COVID-19 following a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) conducted on Saturday. He is currently quarantined at the team hotel. and was taken care of by the BCCI Medical Team”, the Board of Supervisors because Baseball in India (BCCI) tweeted.

Rohit’s readiness for the Test starting July 1 in Edgbaston will now depend on his recovery,
India leads 2-1.
The rescheduled match as part of last year’s five-match Test series had to be postponed after the Fourth Test due to the COVID-19 outbreak at the camp in India.
