Russia: WHO condemns Russia’s aggression in Ukraine
LONDON: World Health Organization meeting passed a petition on Wednesday condemning Russiainvade against Ukraineincluding attacks on healthcare facilities.
The proposal passed with 80 votes out of 9, with 52 abstentions.
The Western-led proposal, presented at the UN agency’s annual meeting, also calls for an assessment of the impact of Russia’s aggression on the health sector.
There was no immediate response from Russia. Moscow has consistently denied targeting civilians in what it calls a “special military operation” in Ukraine.
