Scottie Scheffler sets one-season PGA Tour pre-record
Matt Fitzpatrick won the US Open 2022, but Scottie Scheffler still captured some light when he set the record for the most money in a PGA Tour season.
The 25-year-old professional raked in $1.56 million after finishing second at the Open, bringing his current season total to nearly $13 million with the Tour event calendar remaining. seven weeks again.
Scheffler overtook Jordan Spieth, who previously held the record with $12,030,465 earned in 2015.
New Jersey natives had a strong support for No.1 in the World Golf Rankings since winning The Masters in April. He’s won four of six tournaments this season and is runner-up three times, including matches at the Charles Schwab Challenge, and of course, the US Open. Scheffler finished the Open just one stroke behind Fitzpatrick, sharing second place with Will Zalatoris.
The PGA Tour 2022 continues with the Tourist Championship at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn., this weekend.
