Sexual abuse case: Murugha Mutt’s seer Shivamurthy Murugha Sharanaru sent to police custody till September 5 | Bengaluru News
CHITRADURGA (KARNATAKA): One day after the main pope of Sri Murugha Mutt Shivamurthy Murugha Sharanaru was arrested in connection with the alleged sexual assault of two underage girls, one Karnataka The court sent him to police custody for four days.

Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Karnataka Basavraj Bommai says his government is not responsible for responding to the alleged “delayed” arrest of seer Sri Murugha Mutt, Shivamurthy Murugha Sharanaru about the alleged sexual assault of two girls and added that state police have been given full freedom in handling the case.
In an interaction with the media, CM Bommai said: “We do not need to respond to any allegations. I said that everything will be done according to the law. Now talking is not appropriate. We’ve given the police a free hand, and they’re doing their job.”
Meanwhile, the main pope of Sri Murugha Mutt Shivamurthy Murugha Sharanaru is being taken to the ICU of the district hospital in Chitradurga. He was brought here after he complained of chest pain.
