He continued to talk about social media, seemingly alluding to the recent backlash surrounding Pathaan’s song Besharam Rang. He said, “The general narrative of our times is shaped by social media. Contrary to the belief that social media will negatively affect cinema, I believe that cinema even has a more important role now.”
He added, “Social networks are often driven by a certain narrow vision that limits human nature to its basic nature. I read somewhere that negativity increases consumption social media and thereby increase its commercial value. Such pursuits envelop the collective narrative, making it divisive and destructive.”
