Sleep Junkies will pay you $1,000 to eat cheese then fall asleep

It’s an age-old myth: Don’t eat cheese before bed or you’ll have nightmares.

And now a rest-research firm is looking to test the theory and will pay you $1,000 for that privilege. The project not only seeks to verify or discredit the idea, but also analyze which cheeses impact consumers’ energy levels to the greatest extent.

Five ‘milk dreamers’ to be hired by Sleep Junkie for a period of three months and will eat a variety of products before dozing off. Not only can they cover the cost of buying the cheese, but they also get a bonus at the end.

Starting in March, participants will be provided with a list of cheeses they will need to buy in the coming months. They will try one cheese each week and will have to eat that cheese at the same time every night before bed.

After a week with one cheese, they would take a week off to verify their findings. The cheeses they’ll examine range from green, hard, soft, and fully processed to lactose-free and vegan.

Participants selected for the trial will also have to monitor their findings. They will be asked to record their sleep quality through a monitor as well as provide an assessment of how they slept. They will also need to provide details about their energy levels throughout the week and provide notes on whether they have any dreams or nightmares.

Ideal candidate

Sleep Junkie has put together a list of requirements for their ideal candidates. Individuals must be at least 21 years old; must have a smart watch or sleep-assessed fitness tracker; and they must have a consistent sleep schedule already. They also had to sleep alone during the ordeal.

The company added that it is looking for people who are “self-starter, honest, have good writing skills and love to eat and sleep”.

“Everybody knows the old woman’s story that eating cheese before bed can give you nightmares, but we really wanted to know how much of it was true. At Sleep Junkie, we’re committed to making sure everyone can get a good night’s sleep, but what if it’s a cheese junkie in need of a good rest?” Dorothy Chambers of Sleep Junkie said.

Chambers added: “We’re also aware that it’s not just nightmares that can wreak havoc on a good night’s sleep, but that other factors like not having one of the best mattresses can keep you awake. “. “So we wanted to see if there was a link between different cheeses and other symptoms that might make you feel insecure.”

Is waking up early good for health?

The study comes after experts suggested that people who wake up at 5 a.m. to start their day can see improvements in their life. Samantha Snowden, a mindfulness teacher at spacePopular meditation app, says waking up earlier can improve confidence because you feel like you’ve achieved something.

She adds that waking up earlier allows people to spend an extra 10 minutes to slow down (even take a slightly slower walk to shower in the morning), not immediately check email and practice a message. kind. This isn’t the first time Sleep Junkies has selected test subjects to help bolster its research. Earlier this month, Sleep Junkie said it would pay one lucky candidate $2,000 if they agreed to test and review a range of sleep devices.

The person must identify themselves as an insomniac and will be paid the equivalent of $250 an hour — and keep all high-tech sleep equipment. Individuals involved in this eight-week project have been announced and applications have closed.
