Strange things are haunted? You need these ’80s inspired bangles in your wardrobe…

Part 4 of Strange things, one of Netflix’s most iconic original shows, was dropped on May 20, and it’s safe to say the Internet has been flooded with edits by Kate Bush, Steve Harrington, and Jopper (that’s Joyce and Hopper, duh) ever since. What a great time to have a Twitter account.

If you’re not completely up to date, sort the context. In 1986, hair became more and more popular and fashion became bolder. Season 4 is split between the instantly recognizable Hawkins, Indiana, and the warmer, warmer, and more panoramic California landscape, as Byers and Eleven move away from their troubled past. Or so they think.

The show’s costume designer Amy Parris had to work hard to combine these two worlds, creating a different aesthetic that viewers could distinguish. “There’s a lot more stripes and fall colors on Hawkins, so they stand out against the bright, sun-bleached colors of California,” says Parris. “Hawkins, Indiana, a little more drab, a little more classic – in California, you see surfer style and skater style.”

If completing S4 Episode 1 wasn’t enough to complete the ’80s fire burning inside of you, look no further for our selection of wearable yet vintage-inspired pieces. a nod to the ’80s era in a way that doesn’t scream foot warmers and spandex.
