Streamer xQc puts $500,000 for France to win the World Cup
Like many others around the world, streamer xQc has bet on the World Cup final earlier tonight. However, unlike many others, he claims that he threw down half a million dollarsthen brag publicly about it before the match even started.
Here is the footage:
His bravery is understandable! I love the story of Messi as much as the next football fan, but watching France put both of my teams (Australia and England) on the sword without breaking a sweat—and in the absence of other players. stars like Benzema, Pogba and Kante—they’ve marched to second place consecutive World Cup wins feels somewhat inevitable.
But not! After a bad final, Argentina survived a comeback led by Kylian Mbappe and then a tense penalty shootout to win.won the World Cup final for the third and first time since 1986. Their team is full of brilliant players, from the sly veteran Angel Di Maria to shithouse lover Emi Martinez, but the real star (and the focus of media around the planet) is of course Lionel Messi. The world’s best player of the past 15 years, the only thing missing from his trophy cabinet — and for some, his place among the all-time greats great people—has won the World Cup, so it was great to see him wrap up what was sure to be his last campaign with a win.
Anyway! I’m not here to give you a game summary, I’m just providing context on why putting $500,000 on France to win is called a bet and not a sure thing.
This is the hunter.
At least he did well! It really is a good game, and a fun watch. Especially for those of us who watched it for free.
