Sucker Punch Productions, the studio behind the hit 2020 new IP Ghost of Tsushima, has revealed that they are not working on anything related to the previous Infamous and Sly Cooper franchises. The studio also says that no other developers are working on projects related to the franchise.
This news comes from a blog post highlights Sucker Punch’s 25th anniversary. Since opening its doors more than 20 years ago, the studio has worked on Rocket: Robot on Wheels, the popular platformer series Sly Cooper, the super powerful Infamous series and of course, Ghost of Tsushima. However, in this blog post, the studio clears up a few things between the rumors of a Sly Cooper 5 and an Infamous remake.
“As our games continue to grow in size and complexity, they demand the full attention of our studio,” the blog post reads. “Given our focus on the current project, we have no plans to revisit Infamous or Sly Cooper right now, and no other studios are currently working on projects related to the franchises. that trade. These characters are very special, close and dear to our hearts, so although we never say never to reopen those doors, for now, there is no game Pollution or Sly Cooper is under development. ”
Elsewhere, the studio says it will soon be undergoing maintenance on Infamous 2’s UGC servers to move them to a new home allowing them to stay longer. However, Sucker Punch says it will eventually need to shut down the servers but “[we] want to keep them active for as long as possible for players who are still active. Sucker Punch is also working on getting Infamous Second Son’s Cole’s Legacy DLC, which was previously only available as part of the game’s Collector’s Edition, on the PlayStation Store in all territories.
Sucker Punch wrote: “Thank you everyone for over 24 years of incredible support. “Your love and appreciation is what drives us to continue creating new games and new worlds, and we look forward to continuing to bring new and exciting ideas to life for many years to come. next year. We’re not ready to talk about anything that might come next, but we hope you’ll continue to follow us whenever we’re ready to share more.”
My money is for the Ghost of Tsushima sequel, but who knows what the studio is doing right now. Hopefully, we will learn soon. For now, read on Review of Ghost of Tsushima by Game Informer.
