Saturday is a great day if you watch, with our score at 9-3. We look forward to maintaining that momentum to end the week in the NHL.
There are seven games on Sunday and only a few sticky points for me.
Let’s get to the Shots on Goal (SOG) turn, along with a few points and assists.
Sidney Crosby on 2.5 SOG (-125 DK)
The first play of the day was in Pittsburgh. Nashville allowed 33.8 shots per game in their last ten on the road, a number that skyrocketed to 35.6 in their past year.
Predator is allowing the 12th most penalties per game into center since March 1, and they have the second-most average penalties per game in their last 10.
For those two reasons, we’re rocking Crosby, the Penguins’ premier hub.
Crosby is second on the team for shots by power (17) in his last 20 games, and has surpassed this 2.5 threshold in eight of his past 12 games. Crosby had a decent success against Nashville, hitting his fulcrum in six of his previous eight encounters.
All of the above logic also applies to Evgeni Malkin, who is also at -125. But he failed four games in a row, which gave me pause.
Oblique: Bryan Rust and Brayden Point over 0.5 (+115 CZR)
My two favorite places to score today are Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay. The Penguins are averaging 5.0 goals/game in the last 5 home games while Nashville is scoring 4.2 goals/game in the same match period.
Tampa is scoring 3.2 goals per home game recently, but Buffalo’s average of 4.2 goals allowed in the last 5 road games has become a target.
Roll with Rust, who has 12 points in his last nine home games, and Point, who has points in 75% of home games this season.
I’ve noticed that Caesars always have better odds for matchups. This same play is +108 on DK and FD.
.5u: Jared Spurgeon support (+144 FD)
I think Minnesota is also in a good position to score on Sunday. It’s nothing crazy, but the Wild’s last 5 home games have averaged 3.2 goals per game, while the Kings’ last 5 games have scored 3.4 goals per game.
That suggests three Wild goals to me, which sounds like simple analysis, but simplicity has become our friend lately.
I’m quite enjoying Jared Spurgeon here. Defensive players have assisted in six straight games, and the odds are fantastic for a guy with a recent production pattern.
I’ll only put half a unit on this, as I don’t usually do support bets.
Josh Morrissey on 2.5 SOG (+120 DK)
We’ll get right back to our old friend Josh Morrissey, who continues to rage with his shots.
Morrissey has now defended his SOG in 13 of his last 17 games, including seven of his past nine in the top lane.
Efforts are very high, averaging 7.0 over the past year, and he has a good target to continue rolling today in the Ottawa Senators. Ottawa allows 33.4 shots per home game in their last 10 games (last year’s 36.6), and is generally generous with defense shots.
Why this is beyond my money, but I’ll get it, thanks.
And now that’s for me. Good luck today at NHL, put more money!
