Texas legislators have been dancing around the idea of banning young children from drag shows in the state, so you all know RuPaul has something to say!
While speaking to James Cordon during a recent appearance on ‘The Late Late Show’, RuPaul expressed his confusion with the proposed law, especially in light of the number of students dying at the hands of a gunman on a daily basis. the more increasing. As we reported, the state recently lost 19 students to a school shooting in Uvalde.
This was a diversion tactic to get the narrative out of the gun debate into something to scare people into thinking something else, and they succeeded. They changed the story from the gun debate to this drag queen thing. Is it like you want to help your child? Take away their guns, it will help your child. Drag queens don’t hurt anyone.”
Texas Representative Bryan Slaton proposed legislation banning minors from sledding shows on June 6 — just two weeks after the Uvalde school shooting. Slaton tweeted his proposal, along with an official statement, after seeing a viral video of kids at the ‘Drag the Kids to Pride Drag Show.’ Statement reads:
The events of this past weekend are horrifying and reveal a disturbing trend in which perverted adults become obsessed with having sex with young children. As a father of two young children, I would never take my kids to a drag show, and I know Speaker Dade Phelan and the rest of my Republican colleagues won’t either. It is not enough to protect our children, and our responsibility as legislators extends to the issue of sexuality unfolding across Texas. “
The drag shows are no place for a child.
I would never take my kids to a drag gig, and I know Speaker Dade Phelan and my Republican colleagues won’t either.
