Team USA to compete in Manila for the Fiba World Cup

MANILA, Philippines-The Philippines’ hosting of the Fiba Basketball World Cup has created a new step forward with the United States men’s national basketball team preparing to play its group stage matches here.
According to Fiba, the Philippine basketball leaders decided to bring the Americans here. Co-hosts Japan chose Slovenians, while Indonesia chose Canadians.
Three locations will host the visiting countries for the global meeting that will begin on August 23, 2023: Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City and Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan Province.
The USA team is currently being coached by Golden State Warriors mentor Steve Kerr and is shaping up to include prominent players from the National Basketball Association—along with an already-rich lineup of upcoming stars. to the Philippines.
Since then, Slovenia has announced that Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic will lead their campaign. Canada, meanwhile, could be starred by Warriors forward and 2014 top draft pick Andrew Wiggins.
“Each organizer can select a preferred team based on commercial reasons, as their selection will not affect the integrity of the event or the draw process,” Fiba said in a statement.
A total of 32 nations will battle in the showcase which culminates in the Philippine Arena in a cave.
The Philippines’ team will be known on April 29 when Fiba holds the draw process in Manila.
