Tejashwi Yadav As CBI Plans To Reopen Closed Cases Against Him

'Let them': Tejashwi Yadav as CBI plans to reopen closed cases against him

“I told CBI that if they want to open our home office, they can,” said Tejashwi Yadav.

Bihar Deputy Minister Tejashwi Yadav and his two sisters are likely embroiled in another case – one that the Central Bureau of Investigation had previously closed, saying there had been no wrongdoing. The agency is planning to reopen the case a year after the case is closed, naming Mr Yadav and his sisters Chanda and Ragini Yadav. However, the final call had to be made by agency director Subodh Kumar Jaiswal.

“Allegedly that Lalu Yadav’s family received a key asset from a Delhi property giant in exchange for a contract to redevelop and renovate two major railway properties in Mumbai and Delhi, sources CBI claims assets worth around Rs 50 crore were sold for just a few crore to a shell company of which Tejaswi Yadav and his two sisters are directors.

In 2021, the CBI Investigative Officer cited a number of anomalies such as old stamped papers, forged transactions and the transfer of assets in favor of the Yadavs “at cheap prices”. Senior officials in the agency said the case had to be closed because there was no solid basis to apply for the First Information Report.

Sources now say the agency is reviewing the case to see if a First Information Report can be registered on the basis of the Coroner’s report.

“They investigated once. Didn’t find anything. Now they’ve reopened. I just want to say the life of Lalu-ji (his father and former Bihar Minister Lalu Yadav) and their lives. I’m like an open book. And I told CBI that if they want to open our home office, they can. Let them investigate. It makes no difference,” Tejashwi Yadav told media tonight.

“All of our statements are recorded. We went several times and answered all the questions from the ED (Director of Enforcement) and CBI. So what else could have happened?” he added.

Lalu Yadav is currently recovering from a kidney transplant in Singapore. There are three cases against him for his various decisions as railway minister in the UPA government led by Manmohan Singh.
