KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – On Tuesday, the United States Volleyball Coaches Association announced senior Morgahn Fingall as the Division I National Player of the Week.

This is the first national player of the week to be honored for the Fairfax, Virginia, native and come after earned SEC Offensive Player and Player of the Week Awards in Monday.

“We are incredibly proud of this recognition for Morgahn,” said head coach Eve Rackham Watt. “She was amazing over the weekend and has worked really hard to become the type of player she is.

The right wing attacker had a spectacular weekend as she helped lead Lady Vols to a trio of sweeps of New Hampshire, Norfolk State and The Citadel at the Rocky Top Classic.

Fingall led the attack as she hit .488 with 47 kills and made just 5 mistakes in 9 action sets. The left hand averaged 5.22 kills per set and 6.61 points per set throughout the tournament. On defense, she finished the weekend with 17 digs and 12 blocks total.

In the first three weeks of the season, Fingall had a total of 145 kills and an average of the SEC’s top 4.39 kills per set. Her average per set is also 18th nationally.
