Terrifying Chinese AI cam ‘tracks how hard students are concentrating in class’ in chilling vision of the future
SCHOOL students in China are said to work under the supervision of an artificial intelligence camera that measures their concentration.
The macabre footage claims to show how every student’s every move is meticulously monitored by a high-tech surveillance system.

Snooping spy cameras are said to be installed in classrooms to grade students for attention and track their movements.
An odd clip shows how the system displays data about each person and categorizes them into groups using colored banners.
Each color is said to represent different movements, while the flashing numbers above the students’ heads are constantly changing to indicate the extent of the movements.
The cameras are meant to keep an ever-evolving log of a child’s behavior in the hope of preventing distractions in their infancy.
But it also raises concerns about China. Monitoring status same as Big Brother that now seems to be scaring kids into compliance in the classroom.
Jennifer Zeng, a journalist who shares uncensored news directly from the inside Chinadescribed the footage as “scary.”
She shared the clip to Twitter while trying to break down the complex components of artificial intelligence Cameras are said to scare students.
The former government researcher turned whistleblower wrote: “This is how Chinese students are monitored in their classrooms. Every slightest movement is detected by surveillance cameras.
“The stickers on their heads read ‘head up, 0.89’, ‘head down, 0.88’, ‘Stand different, 0.90’, ‘Hands on table’, ‘Heads down and hold the table, 0.71’ , and so on.
“The numbers are constantly changing to indicate the level of movement.
“It seems to me that different colors are also for different movements. Green is ‘standing in a different way’. It seems that person is a teacher.
“Red for ‘heads up’, pink color for ‘bowing’, yellow for ‘laying head on table’, orange for ‘turning head’, blue for ‘bowing and holding the table’, etc.”
But others say the data is just boring analytics collected by the online platforms people use every day, such as Zoom and Moodle.
Chinese high school revealed they equipped some classrooms with AI cameras to monitor students and take attendance in 2018.
Hangzhou No. 11 High School said the data it obtained then divided students into six categories of behavior related to their learning.
Vice Principal Zhang Guanchao explained: “We have a minimum score.
“If a student’s class score is below that, it means the student is not paying attention during class.”
The system then notifies the teacher – it’s a threat of punishment that prompts students to “voluntarily change classroom behavior and habits,” Guanchao claims.
According to the report, the system has also been monitoring students’ emotions and expressions to ensure their well-being.
A similar concept in the hope of instilling obedience in students was rolled out in 2019, in which elementary school students wore helmets that detect brain waves.

But after the video of the gadget was shared online, there were privacy concerns and they were quickly dismissed.
However, teacher claims that they have supported “real-time student engagement feedback” as well as improved concentration in class.
One educator claimed that their students were “louder than usual” when answering questions and said the hat “successfully improved efficiency in lessons.”
Students were less impressed, with some saying they “felt like they were being controlled” while wearing the bizarre device.
