Andel Taylor (pictured above), a nursing student in Buffalo, New York, first notified her family via group chat by text message that she was trapped in a severe blizzard when was driving home to North Carolina for the holidays. According to one TikTok posted by her sister on Monday, around 4:13 p.m. Anndel sent a video of her snow-covered car along with a message that read:
“stuck in af** blizzard king”
One of her sisters, Sylvanot realizing the gravity of the situation replied:
“Lmao… it was the weather that SpongeBob had to deliver them pizza”
Sadly, though, the situation is not that light. Anndel explained her predicament in another message, saying that she was trying to drive but her car “has snow on the wheels”:
“My son has been here since the 3 cars I was driving with the damn silencer almost falling to the ground and the snow covered the tires like I was going crazy.”
After being asked if she got hot in the car and if she was fine, the 22-year-old replied:
“I went in and out [of the car] shovel [snow] mike just called the fire department, they sent the police to me, I don’t know how long it will take.”
Around 8:28 p.m. — nearly 6 hours after she was first trapped — her family became more worried, asking again if she was okay. Anndel is trapped and the police have yet to come to her rescue:
“Looks like I’m sleeping here, I wonder how long this gas will last
I was so mad, my door was almost hidden.”
Her sister, Tomeshia, was asked if the police had been “on the road for 2 hours”, and the nursing student said “they were also trapped”. Tomeshia replied uncomfortably:
“NOT READY!!! In a state known to it!
Anndel continued to try to contact the police and fire department but no one answered, and she assumed they all had to get out during the fierce storm. By 11:55 p.m., she’s still stuck in the snow, she says it’s waist-deep in snow and if no one comes tomorrow morning, she’ll crawl through the snow to get help. Tragically, she won’t make it until morning…
The next day, around 9 am, the family went to the chat group again to ask if anyone had received any news from their loved one. Another sister, Nequa, said she tried calling “3 times” but no one could reach Anndel. They tracked the location of her phone to see if it was last pinged in the same spot on the street she was stuck on the day before.
Thirty hours after Anndel’s initial message, the police finally arrived but it was too late. On Christmas Eve, around 9pm, they found the body of the soon-to-be 23-year-old girl in her car. Very very sad.

It was not until 7pm on Christmas Day that her body was successfully removed from the car. her mother, Brown Wanda steelshared with New York Post Office on Tuesday, she believes her daughter has died of carbon monoxide poisoning because snow covered her car’s exhaust and she fell asleep with the engine running:
“I think she passed away peacefully. She was lying on her back – she crossed her arms and rested her feet on the dashboard as if she were sleeping peacefully… It’s a state, it’s a city, this always happens – why [weren’t] Are they prepared? My kids sit out there from Friday to Christmas.”
Just a stomach ache…
The family has established a GoFundMe for the final expenses, if you want to donate, you can find the link THIS.
Our hearts go out to Anndel’s family and loved ones, we cannot imagine the pain they are going through. She can rest in peace.
