On International Day of Persons with Disabilities, important steps are taken to ensure that people in vulnerable situations such as people with disabilities (PWDs) do not feel ostracized in society.

It is a well established fact that the workforce with disabilities is more resilient and dedicated, today businesses are more interested in investing in and participating in the creation of a skilled workforce that comes from many different origins.
This view is echoed by Tarini Malhotra, Founder, Nai Subah Foundation, “While we are on a fateful journey for people with disabilities, we still have a long way to go. We all have a long way to go. Everyone is different and we perceive and experience the world in a unique way. Autism is not’ not a disorder Neurodiversity is not a ‘disability’, it is a form of existence. And while society is becoming more ‘acceptable’, we haven’t done a good job of making inclusion authentic.”
‘A report highlights the untapped potential of the disabled workforce (PWD) in India. According to the report, out of a population of 1.3 billion, India has a total of 3 PwD talented people, about 50% of which, i.e. almost 1.34 are usable. However, currently only 25% of the talent that can be recruited by PWDs (about 340,000) are employed in various fields.’
There is a better understanding of the fact that the workforce of people with disabilities is resilient and dedicated, and today businesses are more interested in investing in skilled professionals from a variety of backgrounds.
