The Weeknd Drops HBO Max Series ‘The Idol’ Trailer Starring Lily-Rose Depp in Hollywood Music Industry


It promises to be “Hollywood’s worst love story,” brimming with sex, cocaine, and booze in darkened rooms.

At a Saturday night concert, Weekend premiered the trailer for his new show, Idol. Set to stream on HBO Max, the series follows the life of a pop star, run by Lily-Rose Deppwhen she falls into a romantic relationship with a Los Angeles club owner and cult leader, played by Weeknd herself.

Hosted by Happiness director Sam Levinson as well as rap icon, Idol will immerse viewers in what is teased to be the erotic and chaotic alternate world of the modern music industry.
