The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Next Generation Update Coming This December
CD Projekt Red announced that the next generation update for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC for Witch 3: The Wild Hunt will be released on December 14th.
Announced in a post on The Witcher’s official Twitter account (below), CD Projekt Red has kept its promise of a Q4 release by confirming a December date. However, this only applies to the digital version of the game, with CD Projekt Red stating that a physical release date will be announced later.
The upgrade is free to anyone who has previously purchased the game, and includes “dozens of visual, performance, and technical improvements over the original,” CD Projekt Red said in a press release. “These include ray tracing support, faster loading times on consoles, as well as a variety of mods built into the experience, among many others.”
The next-gen update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is out on December 14, free for those who already own the game.

More details on these built-in mods and other features will be shared during a Twitch live stream next week, but CD Projekt Red has confirmed that the next-gen version will include them all. Previously released DLC along with new content based on The Witcher Netflix series.
game was originally slated to be released last year before being delayed twice, with third-party studio Saber Interactive initially developing the new version. CD Projekt Red takes over in April 2022However insists that the game is “not in development hell”.
Q4 date is set to return in May but many people are still worried because of the two previous delays, not to mention the end of the year, but CD Projekt Red seems to hit the target.
