This woman’s mother sent all the intimate details of her divorce to 500 people in one Christmas card!

What would the holidays be without delicious food, festive traditions and awkward family moments? Well, this poor woman from Georgia might be about to have the most awkward reunion of all — thanks to her mom!

TikTok user Laura Kinney told followers in a video last week that she grew up in a “very traditional southern family” with “the most passive and aggressive southern mother in the whole world.” And she has the bill!

The hilarious clip from December 16 was captioned:

“Remember that one time my mom told ALL the details of my messy divorce in our family Christmas letter? Because they’re the same”

And if you do not Remember, fasten your seat belt! It’s a roller coaster…

Laura reveals in the video that she has been “panic” about her mother’s Christmas card tradition since the summer months when she realized she would no longer be married by the time the holidays approached. :

“My mom sent me the first draft, which basically detailed every reckless behavior my ex-husband did after he let me know he wanted a divorce and didn’t want to deal with any of the issues. whatever. She’s letting all of our readers know that – down to every detail of the date our divorce was finalized.”

Naturally, she was appalled by her mother’s super detailed story:

“Now, as the person this letter is talking about. I am not happy with this news. I don’t think many people need to know that much about me.”

However, on the other hand, social media users did thought it might be funny at the receiving end:

“However, if I were the one to receive a letter like this, it would be the best thing I have ever received. I will frame it.

So what to do? Send a long letter to “500 people who don’t know me from Adam”, of course! Laura gave her mother the green light to spread all the gory details of her previous divorce. Too funny! We’ve heard about getting socks for Christmas – but not dirty clothes!

And we know you’re as desperate to know what that letter said as we are – thankfully, the TikTok user provided an update with a screenshot of exactly what her mom said. The letter begins:

“Our 2022 is perhaps best seen as ‘a year of surprises’ in both good and bad ways. You know the saying, ‘The best plans of rats and men often fail’. But honestly, isn’t that life?”

The mother intervened then went on to write that Laura and Jake, her ex-husband, had moved to Tennessee for work, where they both found work in New York. Dolly Partontheme park’s, Dollywood. And you know exactly what’s next in the letter:

“All seems fine. But unfortunately, that’s not the case.”

OH MY GOD! Here it comes…

“In short, Jake doesn’t need and doesn’t want to get married anymore. He turned down all offers of counseling, stated that he wanted a divorce, and started living as if he were single (to put it nicely). Laura was blind and devastated. Caroline explained that Laura ended her summer contract with Dollywood before moving back to Atlanta, where she currently works at the Simple Pediatric Therapy Unit. All things considered, she’s doing pretty well, though, there’s still a lot of healing that needs to happen. Her divorce became final on September 19, two days before her third wedding anniversary. It’s hard to watch someone we love so much go through such a painful time. But I’m grateful that she got out of that toxic relationship.”
