UAAP: Angel Canino praises rookie Trisha Tubu
MANILA, Philippines — Angel Canino pays tribute to rookie Trisha Tubu after La Salle and Adamson’s decisive match in the UAAP Season 85 women’s volleyball tournament on Sunday at the Filoil EcoOil Center.
Canino, who encountered bad weather last week, shook off his slow start before scoring 21 points to help La Salle win 22-25, 25-14, 25-16, 25-19 over Adamson and remained unbeaten in six games, nearing the record mark. sweep round one.
The highly rated player from La Salle Zobel has played better than Tubu, Adamson’s top scorer, but she doesn’t put too much emphasis on their confrontation as an opponent as she remains focused on getting help your team.
“I don’t see us as competitive as super rookies. Please respect her because she is her own player and I am my own player,” Canino said in Filipino after scoring 20 kills out of 17 excellent receptions.
Canino, La Salle’s top scorer, has great respect for Tubu, who has 13 points.
“I have a lot of respect for her because she contributes so much to her team. And she’s the type of player that doesn’t give up. She is a reliable player for her team on the field,” she said in Filipino.
The UAAP Girls’ former MVP said Lady Spikers respects anyone they face in court.
“As our coach said, we prepare every team and we respect all of them. We always prepare for our game and our goal is to win,” Canino said.
Canino and Lady Spikers attempt to complete a comeback in the first round against defending National University champions Lady Bulldogs on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
