US: Taliban release 2 Americans in ‘goodwill gesture’

HOA THINH DAN WOMAN: the Taliban released two Americans detained in Afghanistan in what appeared to be a “gesture of goodwill,” Foreign Office spokesman Price Ned said Tuesday.
He told reporters that the release was not part of any major prisoner exchange and there was no money in exchange.
A senior administration official said the US government is currently supporting the two and they will soon be reunited with their families. The official was not authorized to speak publicly on the matter and spoke on condition of anonymity.
Neither Price nor the official were able to identify the two Americans.
The United States does not officially recognize the ruling Taliban in Afghanistan, who took power from a US-backed government after WE forces withdraw in 2021.
