Vampire Survivor, the breakout game of 2022—now—genre, released its full version 1.0 just over a month ago, near the end of October. But if you’re worried that means developer poncle done, put your worry back in the worry box, close the lid, clip the hooks and update your version to the newly released version 1.10. Along with a few smaller details, the patch called The Tiny One adds a fascinating new Trial Stage and it’s a very narrow bridge.

The Tiny Bridge stage is unlocked by reaching level 80 in the Inverse Gallo Tower, and once it unlocks it offers the most ridiculous challenge yet: A single lane in which you have to do a number of things Tune very specific abilities to have a better chance of survival.

Capturing that moment in the casual game when you realize you’re stuck in hopelessness, and then trying to do whatever it takes to somehow survive it, the whole idea sounds like creepy. And so great.

Also added in this post-release update is Seal Power Up. According to updates:

When Sealing a weapon, it is automatically added to the banished weapon list when it starts running. When sealing an item, that item will not be removed from the loot table but will instead convert to a Gold Coin, which means this has no effect on the standard drop rate.

It comes with 10 o’clockanks, the base price is 10,000 and is obtained by “removing 1o or more items in one run”. Oh my God, Vampire Survivor becomes more complicated when I look out this window.

There are also two new achievements for which poncle nervously apologizes. “Ssorry for the extra achievements ruining your completion rate,” he said in his note. “Mothermost players seem to favor having them so I took the opportunity to add more. The best thing I can think of to make them feel less “must have” is to tag them as an EXTRA achievement.”

And there’s another new secret. Whist.

Vampire Survivor is very solid in Kotakufavorite game of 2022 (and yes, friend, we knew it was coming out in December 2021, but no one noticed for a few weeks) and it will be high on a lot of GOTY listings on the internet. Right now you can get it on Steam for only $4.24or find it in Game Pass for Xbox. Though be prepared to see nothing but blue crystals when you close your eyes for the next few weeks.
