VUNO transfers medical AI speech recognition products to Puzzle AI

Korean medical tech company Puzzle AI is set to take over VANO’s medical AI voice technology assets as part of a recently signed strategic agreement.

Founded in 2018, Puzzle AI develops voice AI technology tools for the medical industry. Its portfolio of solutions includes VoiceEMR, which converts dictation voices into medical records, and VoiceENR, a voice recognition tool for nurses.

WHAT IT’S ABOUT

The latest deal involves the transfer of VunoMed Deep ASR to Puzzle AI. The solution uses AI for automatic speech recognition and accurate and real-time documentation of spelled medical terms, even those containing long and complex words or languages Korean and English mixed. It has been adopted by more than 20 major hospitals across Korea since its launch in 2019.

An internal performance test found a solution with over 98% speech recognition accuracy and real-time medical document processing 1.5 times faster than conventional speeds.

According to a media release, VUNO will maintain the patent rights to the technology, allowing it to receive royalties and sales commissions, while Puzzle AI will receive an exclusive license for the patent. regime.

After the transfer, Puzzle AI will handle the research and development of both companies’ medical AI solutions while VUNO will focus on sales and marketing.

WHY IT IMPORTANT

In a statement, VUNO said revenue from its medical audio business for Puzzle AI will allow the company to focus on the medical imaging category, which accounts for the majority of the company’s revenue. It also plans to focus on research and development of health monitoring solutions, especially the cardiac arrest prediction device, VunoMed DeepCARS.
