Warframe Prime Respawn Will Be Permanently Back and With Welcome Changes

Warframe is about to celebrate its 10th anniversary as a direct-serve game, and it continues to evolve in many ways. With new weapons, Warframes, and quality of life changes, Digital Extremes continues to focus on community requests to support an ever-changing, yet uplifting experience for players while also providing more options for newer players to earn Warframes, weapons and accessories without spending real world currency. We spoke with Warframe community director Megan Everett, who has been with Digital Extremes for 9 years, about the return of the Prime Resurgence event and the feedback the team took from last year’s release.

Prime Vault and Prime Resurgence History

For those new to Warframe, Prime Resurgence allows players to collect Aya through Bounties Missions and then redeem them for specific Void Relics that can be used to unlock Prime Parts for Warframes, weapons, and gear . The original versions of these items are much more powerful than their original counterparts.

Digital Extremes launched Prime Resurgence last year. When it first launched, it was still trying to figure out the best methods to earn Prime items by taking the player’s direct experience into account. “We’ve talked about this before, and it’s a learning experience when you do this for the first time in the Main Event of the World. We took a lot of feedback from last year, we really Considering the stats, we want to take the time to make sure that when we bring it back it’s in the best possible shape,” Everett told GameSpot.

As of 2015, Warframe has had the Prime Vault, a repository of Prime Warframes and weapons that can still be earned with real-world money but will not appear as rewards during missions. “At [in 2015]we had less Keyframes, less Combat Frames, less everything in general. [Prime Vault] was our way to introduce more excitement and urgency around those Prime Warframe frames. And as the years went on, we found ourselves in a cycle of primes that changed faster than if we hadn’t modified them. That wasn’t ideal, and has resulted in players now not having access to a wide range of their Prime Warframes, accessories and weapons,” Everett said.

“It doesn’t have a good practical explanation of why these aren’t accessible–[outside of] other players told others that they were ‘metaphorically’ behind this vault, this gate, that no one could access until we opened it,” Everett continued.

Things that haven’t changed – such as with the current Prime Warframe, Chroma, and Zephyr – aren’t as simple as clicking a button. Developers have to come back to make sure this content works on different platforms.

“To make those packages available, you have to go through the console certification process, and for that code to live you have to create [an immense amount] content for each platform – they’re all unique,” says Everett. It got really tough as the game progressed and evolved, trying to balance those two, wanting to make more Prime Vaults and make them accessible, but also focusing on the game time. release task types. “

Everett continued: “Prime Resurgence actually enabled the developer resources we needed to do with Prime Vault that weren’t included in that program, and [have developers on things like] Veilbreaker, Duviri, and everything in between we planned. It takes less effort; it’s purely driven by people who can flip the switch and [as long as] QA verifies that it is good to go. “

Aya and King Aya

Aya herself had a hard time farming last year due to the low drop rate in bounty missions. With Resurgence being permanent, the drop boards will be updated with Aya rewards. “We had to remove Aya from stage one of the Deimos bounty just because we saw a bit of exploitative behavior when we did the Ghoul. We ran into it. [Aya] to phase two, but we also have [increased] the amount of Aya you can get. It’s worth it [with the new changes,]Everett affirmed.

Aya comes in two forms. Without spending, Aya can be obtained in exchange for Void Relics, but Relic Aya can be purchased with real-world money and used to purchase the complete Prime version of the Warframe, weapons, or accessories without the need to spend it. There is no need to purchase individual Prime parts. You can’t find Aya Royal just by playing.

When Warframes like the recently released Khora Prime become domed, she’s added to the rotation. “Except for Excalibur Prime,” Everett quickly interjected with a laugh, as Excalibur Prime is only available to players who have purchased the Founders Pack. A running joke about how the community requests Excalibur Prime is often for those who missed out on that opportunity.

The team will continue to look at which Warframes have not been available for a long time and will sort the list based on factors such as player requests and how long they have been stored.

Player feedback and implementation

With only limited Prime Vault access since last year, Digital Extremes of course wants to fix that by including Resurgence as a monthly spin to give players more options to get Prime Warframes, weapons and their desired accessories. When selecting specific items to Prime or allowing Prime Access, there is a decision-making process about what Digital Extremes can or can’t Prime. “All weapons are Tenno weapons, you can’t use Orokin weapons. It doesn’t fit the lore,” said Everett with a laugh.

When figuring out how to improve the Prime version of Warframe, developers will look at certain capabilities on Warframe. Seeing which ones are used less frequently in the vanilla version can lead to it being made stronger in the Prime version. “We only have a handful of eligible weapons that can be primed, and it makes sense for Warframe that they’re being primed [alongside]. When we did Prime a Warframe, we looked at the kits, the stats on how many people had [a specific Warframe]. That won’t change them being Primed; Have an order for [items] to get Primed, and we’ll Prime no matter what. “

Since Prime Resurgence is now permanent, players will have rotation throughout the year, but Digital Extremes’ plans have yet to materialize. “[Prime Resurgence is here to stay]but we have the ability to change it immediately or after a few months review the feedback. [For example]maybe one month isn’t long enough, maybe two months [rotations]? The excitement of doing 11-12 spins a year instead of two Prime Vaults a year is exciting, says Everett.

Feedback from last year’s Resurgence has been rolled out to this new system. Everett said, “There was going to be an Aya exchange for the Void Trace. When we first launched it, we didn’t have that option, but everyone believed it. [and pushed]therefore [we decided] to add this as an option. Many of them will feel familiar with a few exceptions [such as it being] monthly now. “

Everett reassured, “We’re still looking at the response. Because [Prime Resurgence] will be back forever, things may feel different a year or two from now. We will look at the statistics, [for example,] everyone has enough Aya for [number] rotate that we are doing? Do we need to expand the rotations? Do we need to increase the Aya drops? There are so many things that we can use over time and we will because we need to make sure we don’t give [items] one cannot get it back. We are totally ready to change things like [they go on]. It’s still a new show for us. We’re still open to feedback as it goes on. “

Updates between Prime Resurgence last year so far, such as the Zariman puzzle set, added its own bounty system. Players will now be able to earn Aya through the Zariman bounty, providing another method of raising Aya in exchange for the Void Relic. With ongoing updates to this vast world, Digital Extremes also wants to introduce easier ways to trade your Aya, which previously included a multi-step process to talk to the Dax soldier. Varzia. “You have to go to Navigator yourself, to Mars, to Maroo, and you have to go through all those steps to get to her. We did [now] added some shortcuts to the game now. There is a button which is the ‘Visit Varzia’ button. It will quickly take you to Varzia. “

One challenge Digital Extremes faces is weighing feedback from veterans and new players alike – feedback can sometimes be outright objectionable. “A veteran player may have feedback [that might not] applies to a new player,” Everett said. You have to take that into account and balance the program/experience so that it applies to everyone. [You want] Everyone is having a good time and you won’t let new players get stuck. “

Everett continued: “We’ve learned to spend more time with [criticism]and definitely look at it from all different angles, new players, veterans, mid-tier Star Ranking players, players [specific] Warframes are excessive. There’s a lot more to consider, but Warframe has thrived for 10 years based on community feedback. We’ll always encourage constructive feedback on ‘you’re bad’ comments. “

Vanilla Warframes

Given the number of events and Primed exclusivity, the original versions of these Warframes or weapons can sometimes be left out. The original version of Warframe offers better stats or abilities than the vanilla version, but Primed events can cause players to never have these vanilla versions to complete their Master Leaderboard. . “There’s a kind of friction there that’s great [Ash and Oberon] are in Railjack with that incentive, but they’re so deeply involved in Railjack that new players can’t reach them easily. we [then] Everett said.

Everett continued, “It was important to us that vanilla, the original version of [Warframes are options.] You can do many things with [vanilla Warframes], with Veilbreaker offering Styanax for free it’s really fun and exciting. And Styanax is a powerful Warframe. [Styanax] not a joke. Having [Styanax’s] power at the head of a [new player’s] journey and how they will progress through the Star Chart. They will be able to do the quest easier, get [resources] Easier, easier Railjack implementation. “

“We’re always looking at what people are saying about buying vanilla Warframes. And those are Warframes that you can order, so people don’t just want one of them, they want two of them. We want to make sure we don’t ever end the interview.
