So when a colleague visited my DM and offered me a ticket on her behalf, I really couldn’t say no. At that moment, I put on my best club-approved black t-shirt, put on a pair of patterned pants, grab my roommate, and head to Terminal 5, the perfect spot in Midtown Manhattan to enjoy NYC Pride Week.
And boy, is it delivered. Madonna, along with a group of drag queens, gay artists and dancers, gave a much-anticipated performance at the World of Women NFT event. Titled “Last Enough Love” in honor of the star’s 2022 dance remix album, Madge sure knows how to throw gay old-school shadows. Sponsored by Belvedere Vodka, RuPaul’s Drag Race outstanding Bob the Drag Queen winner, co-star and team winner Violet Chachki performed a spicy burlesque dance sequence and show co-star Laganja Estranja made the point that she would most likely win crown in an All Stars season (please come back, I beg you). The Queen of Pop was also joined by Dominican rapper Tokischa (with whom she later shared a passionate kiss, more later…), Saucy Santana and Pixie Aventura, rounding out a list Grade A books dressed for the gods.
During the night, it is easy to be mesmerized by the outside world.
