A woman bitten by a shark in Volusia County Saturday afternoon spoke of the attack exclusively with WESH 2. What was supposed to be a fun weekend getaway in the Daytona Beach Shores quickly turned into shock after An Ohio woman, Tasa Summers, 40, was hit by a shark. She shared her experience during that terrifying encounter. She was bitten at 1:12 p.m. Saturday, according to Volusia County Beach Safety. Beach officials say Summers, from Ohio, is in waist-deep water located at Lot 3300 of the Daytona Beach Shores. In response, I just yelled and started running,” Summers said. Summers and her boyfriend were enjoying a nice Saturday at the Daytona Beach Shores when the little shark bit her leg. My first was just to scream. Then I really try to make sure I don’t fall back into the water because I don’t know if it’s going to happen – I don’t know if I’ll fall back, if it’ll stick to my arm. or another part of my body,” Summers said. Her boyfriend was nearby and hit it off. “I didn’t see it until it bit me, um, and then we could see that, and my boyfriend went out with me and kind of saw the shark’s fin after. and Summers said, “Everybody around was very enthusiastic. Take off my boyfriend’s shirt so he can wrap it. Thankfully, there was a nurse there. She used one of the hotel staff’s belts to make a check,” Summers said. Her injuries were not life-threatening and she was taken to the hospital. The shark bit the bottom of the tube. her left foot went down to her ankle and had to have eight stitches to immobilize her. She said it could have been much worse,” Summers said. There have been five recorded shark bites in Volusia County this year.

She shared her experience during that terrifying encounter.
She was bitten at 1:12 p.m. Saturday, according to Volusia County Beach Safety.
Beach officials said Summers, from Ohio, was in waist-deep water at section 3300 of the Daytona Beach Shores.
“I didn’t see anything in the water before that until it bit me. Then, out of a natural reaction, I just screamed and started running,” Summers said.
Summers and her boyfriend were enjoying a nice Saturday at the Daytona Beach Shores when the little shark bit her leg.
“My first instinct was just to scream. Then I really tried to make sure I didn’t fall back into the water because I didn’t know if it would happen – I didn’t know if I would. fall back or not. behind my arm or another part of my body,” Summers said.
Her boyfriend was nearby and swept it away.
“I didn’t see it until it bit me, um, and then we could see that, and my boyfriend went with me and saw the shark’s fin after that and started pounding. in its face,” Summers said.
“Everyone around was very enthusiastic. Take off my boyfriend’s shirt so you can wrap it. Thankfully, there was a nurse there. She used one of the hotel staff’s belts to do it. tour,” Summers said.

“There are families with kids in the water,” Summers said. “Although I don’t like it biting me, I’m grateful it wasn’t one of the little kids.”
