A remake has been rumored for a long time, and it’s all been confirmed time and time again – most recently in January when Xbox achievements tracking site TrueAchievements also listed the game. An updated version of the original GoldenEye 007 has been confirmed to be in development for Xbox 360 Live Video Games at developer Rare but was canceled due to licensing issues and files for the game leaked online in February 2021.
It’s been a while since we’ve received a complete Bond game, but we seem to be seeing the relaxation of the notoriously tight restrictions on licenses. Along with the seemingly return of GoldenEye, developer Hitman Io Interactive is also working on Project 007, one brand new story for super spy. We think the developer is a Perfect fit for franchising.
